私は入学から半年で大学を中退し、本当に興味のある授業だけを聴講しました。

I left school after six months and sat in on the classes I actually loved.

その一つがカリグラフィーの授業で、美しいものの将来何の役にも立たないように思えました。

One was calligraphy, a beautiful subject with no use for my future at all.

10年後、最初のマッキントッシュを設計していたときに、その授業の記憶が甦りました。

Ten years later, that class returned while we were building the first Macintosh.

At twenty I built Apple with a friend, working out of my parents' garage.

Ten years on it was a huge company, and then the board pushed me out of it.

For thirty-three years I asked my mirror the same question each morning.

When the answer kept coming back no, day after day, I knew I had to change something.
