In Sparta, King Menelaus told Telemachus about an ancient sea god.

The sea god said Odysseus was still alive, trapped on an island.

The nymph Calypso kept him on her island, with no ship to leave on.

Back in Ithaca, the wicked suitors learned that Telemachus had sailed away.

They took a swift black ship to wait for him by a rocky strait.

In the dark waters, the suitors hid with spears to kill the returning prince.
